Little Church is an opportunity for parents to enjoy mass, while children learn their faith. Sundays during the 11:00am Mass, children 3-6 years of age (exceptions can be made) have the chance to interact with other children and join in on the activities provided. We have arts and crafts, outdoor games, morning movie days, and attend church as a class. This is a great beginning for your child’s path in their spiritual life and prepares them for the 1st Communion program. Elementary Classes for grades 1-8 are held on Sundays, 9:15-10:30am. Sessions are taught by trained volunteer catechists. Parents are asked to offer their participation as telephone chairpersons, classroom helpers, supply assistants, traffic monitors or office aids.
Preparation for First Holy Communion and Reconciliation is a two year process, Generally children begin in the First Grade. However, we have first year classes beginning in other grades. All students are placed in age and peer group classes. Our first goal is to make clear the relationship of the Sacrament to the child’s life.
This is a family-centered process. Our Students are Baptized a t the conclusion of their first year of religious formation. Baptism for a ll students in grades 1-8 takes plac on Easter Vigil (Holy Saturday). This is a formal conclusion of their first year of religious education. The following year the students will go on to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion.
